Job Responsibilities: At the start of the day to download patients letters from the hospital database and to workflow using our workflow applications. To open the mail and distribute accordingly. Answer the phone and deal with patient / colleague queries. To complete all work flowed documents and forward them to the necessary team.
To ensure accurate and detailed information is entered into patients records. To summarise any highlighted areas into the patients records. To prepare patients records when they leave the practice list. To accurately scan new patients records onto the computer.
On receiving any requests for reports, they will be logged into appropriate folders and put through to the relevant GP. Once they have been checked by the GP records are either photocopied or relevant paperwork is scanned into the computer and documented before returning to the appropriate company. Liaise effectively with doctors, nurses and other practice staff including attached professional staff such as midwives, district nurses, ARRs Colleagues, and health visitors, other external agencies such as hospitals, chemists, social services, insurance companies to ensure relevant information is passed appropriately. Downloading of ECGs and 24-hour BP monitoring results onto the computer system.
To ensure the Task list is actioned in a timely and effective manner. To carry out Fire alarm checks on a weekly basis. To carry out water flow and dead leg checks as per legionella policy as required. To assist the reception team with any queries that they have.
To assist patients with online access queries. Including, but not limited to, Patient record access under the National Programme. To liaise with onsite staff and distribute Patient Triage as needed. To Provide Cover for absent colleagues as required.
To Support Patient referrals as required. To support the Patient Long Term Condition Recall System, as required. This includes active support and promotion of the NHS Vaccination Programmes. Please note this may necessitate some element of onsite evening or weekend working.
