Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join a well-established administrative team in our busy integrated therapies department. You will provide general admin and clerical support to the clinical teams, and work with all members of the integrated therapy service to assist them with administrative tasks.
You will be required to have experience of office based administrative work and dealing with members of the general public. Experience in the NHS with existing NHS systems will be an advantage but not essential. You will need to have good keyboard skills and GCSE English and Maths. You will also need to have good communication skills, ability to work well in a team and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
You will need to be able to plan and prioritise effectively, work within defined deadlines and have the ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service
To provide general admin and clerical support to the clinical and service support team as requested by the Team Leader.
Type clinical and non-clinical correspondence / dictated correspondence, clinic letters, discharge summaries, utilising agreed templates.
To use the relevant IT systems to register patients, make appointments, input clinical letters and care planning summaries, as required.
Support the management of clinical dairies to maximise effective time management.
Support and maintain the Choose and Book process.
Support the administrative processes associated with outpatient clinics / referrals / inpatient referrals as required.
To answer telephone enquiries in an efficient manner and ensure appropriate follow through using initiative to deal with routine enquiries and referring complex queries to the relevant medical secretary
Maintain efficient electronic and manual filing systems, including the sorting and collation of all patient notes / results into the relevant patients’ hospital notes.
To assist with the receipt and distribution of post.
To liaise with the wider clinical team/Medical Secretaries/Consultants accordingly.
To undertake other clerical duties as requested e.g. photocopying, faxing, filing and maintaining adequate stationary supplies
