Compensation and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Salary Wage: $3,505 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,508 per month

  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
  • Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under supervision and reporting to the Director of Outreach and Special Programs, the incumbent's primary duty is to support the mission of the unit and the University ensuring that all administrative requirements are executed and completed in a timely manner including assisting the director and ensuring that outreach staff obtain the administrative support to effectively meet their objectives. The incumbent in this position will assist with financial, programmatic and administrative support and other general office operations. The incumbent is also responsible for the oversight and training of one student clerical within any given semester.

  • Be detail oriented and organized.
  • Work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
  • Be flexible with the ability to organize multiple tasks and events, adjust priorities and work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and draft/compose correspondence and standard reports.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, technical/vocational program, or equivalent, to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as described above.
  • Three (3) years of general office work and budgeting experience.

Department Summary

Outreach and Special Programs intends to collaborate with school districts and local community organizations to enhance the academic preparation and increase college awareness for our youth, grades K-8. We look for opportunities to visit schools and programs to provide information about Fresno State and the majors and careers it offers. Our office intentionally offers programs that reach out to underrepresented minorities and host students and their families at Fresno State. Early education and parent involvement can make a difference in a child’s life. We want to motivate children to be bold, plan and be academically prepared for a college education.
