Job Title: Office Assistant
Acorn Psychology and Support Services provide a wide range of Educational Psychology, Specialist Teacher and therapeutic services to schools across Lancashire. Our philosophy is based on the belief that every child and young person can achieve given the appropriate support, guidance, intervention and learning opportunity.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as an Office Assistant. As an Office Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our Office Manager in the smooth running of our office operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administrative skills wanting to work term-times hours. There will be the option for the successful candidate to work remotely for some of the week.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and route incoming calls, e-mails and enquiries
- Managing and organising the uploading of reports and resources on to the Cloud
- Managing and organising the physical office space including managing office supplies inventory and reordering when necessary
- Keeping track of resources
- Shredding and filing
- Supporting the Office Manager with invoicing and chasing up missed invoice payments
- Supporting our Psychologists and Specialist Teachers with every day administrative tasks
- Supporting the Office Manager with the organising of team meetings and development days including obtaining quotes from venues and guest speakers
- Schedule appointments and meetings, and help manage calendars
- Prepare and distribute documents, memos, and reports
- Support staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Any other duties as requested by the team
Requirements:
- Eligible for an enhanced DBS check (Essential)
- Excellent organisation skills (Essential)
- Proficient in IT and able to navigate our online Cloud (Essential)
- Good verbal communication and written skills (Essential)
- A pleasant telephone manner (Essential)
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively (Essential)
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently (Essential)
- Proven experience as an office assistant or in a similar role (Desirable)
- Knowledge of education, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and the role of Educational Psychologists and Specialist Teachers (Desirable)
