Job description

The University of Sunderland is the Consortium Lead Provider for the ESF Contract ‘North East Workforce Skills project’ which seeks to develop a wider, more holistic suit of provision, designed to support employers within Tyne and Wear and Northumberland upskill their workforce and stimulate apprenticeship growth.
This project has been designed to primarily support the development and delivery of the higher skills at L3 and above and giving business the opportunity to gain the skills they need through accredited but more specifically bespoke non accredited training.

MTC Training along with a number of other partners are supporting the delivery of this project through to September 2023.
MTC Training is one of a number of successful commercial enterprises formed by the University of Sunderland, offering a range of accredited courses in a wide range of IT and project management, as well as a portfolio of Apprenticeship Programmes.
Our core objective is to serve the North East region as a leading provider of accredited training.

Based at the Industry Centre, Enterprise Park West, Sunderland – MTC offers the highest technical accreditations available and serves the whole of the North East region. The centre has a reputation for excellence and quality, built upon the exceptional dedication and professionalism of our team.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced Administration Assistant to support the efficient and compliant administration of the ESF programme within MTC Training. As Administration Assistant you will have significant experience of working in a busy office environment.


As the first point of contact, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. You will possess demonstrable IT skills including experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)


This post is office based covering the core hours of 9am to 5pm, however from time to time the post holder may be expected to work unsociable / additional hours during peak times of the year therefore flexibility is required.
