Urgent Activity Leader to deliver Seated Sports Programme
2 to 14 hours a week £17.50 an hour
My Client is looking for staff in the following areas Barry, Newport, Cardiff, Caerphilly, The Vale of Glamorgan
Must be able to Drive and Own a Car, Fuel will be paid
Care / Healthcare Industry background or Sports Degree or Training in Sports, Football, Netball, Rugby etc
Would you like to help people in your local community get active through a fun and adaptable seated sports programme?
Would you like a job with flexible hours and flexible days between 10am and 3pm?
Are you passionate about providing special experiences to people of all abilities and mobilities?
If you answered yes to the above, I would love to speak to you about our Activity Leaders role. We are looking for people to deliver our exciting, seated sports programme that love working with people of all ages and abilities.
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver fantastic, seated sports sessions using our special programme. As part of this you’d prepare your session, risk assess it using our dynamic risk assessment, deliver the session and pack the equipment away. Full training and all equipment would be provided.
Each session produces truly special experiences like the time a 109-year-old played dodgeball with her great-grandchildren! It’d be great to see if you could share in some of these amazing experiences as an activity lead.
Our Activity Sports Leaders aims to help people with limited mobility get active, have fun and improve their well being and fitness through our unique ‘seated sports’ programme, which enables people to experience the joy of games while playing and competing together.
What are ‘seated sports’?
Essentially they’re games people love, played in new ways My Client have adapted sports such as, football, rugby and hockey to be played sitting down, so anyone can join in – whether they’re recovering from illness or injury, have limited mobility or simply because of age.
Their sessions provide great exercise and great fun, and clients love them. With activities tailored to the different abilities within the group – even bed-bound – they provide a competitive element and build camaraderie between people, while giving them something to talk about between sessions and letting them reminisce about when they were at school or memories of adult experiences.
You might be working already in the care industry and looking for a more exciting role with less hours or a Graduate who has studied sports looking to gain more experience. Whoever you are this is a very rewarding role
To apply for this role you must be willing to follow their Covid procedures to protect their clients, provide your own transport, and complete their training.
Initially there will be a face to face meeting via Teams followed by shadowing a member of staff who is running an activity
For this immediate opportunity please forward an up to date cv for earliest consideration
