About the department and role
The Accounts Receivable team provides credit control services to the University for student tuition and accommodation fees. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the post holder will be responsible, in conjunction with the Supervisor, for the development and delivery of efficient and effective Accounts Receivable services for self-funded Home students on behalf of the University. This will include efficient payment acceptance processes for tuition fee income, and effective credit control processes to ensure accurate and timely information regarding student debts to the University.
The post holder will additionally provide support and cover across the University debtors’ ledgers managed by the Accounts Receivable team; monitor, review and respond to emails received into the generic Accounts Receivable email account; and work in conjunction with the rest of the team to develop the University Finance system to ensure the efficient and effective management of the debtors’ ledgers, and development of the associated processes and procedures.
The Accounts Receivable team is a busy section of the Finance Department, with a high volume of payments received from students and other outside parties.
The role may be a combination of office / home based work, subject to agreement and the requirements of the role.
About you
Accuracy and timeliness in dealing with such payments is essential, as is attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for the role.
