What we are recruiting for…
At VVB, we are currently recruiting for an Accounts & Payroll Assistant. The Accounts & Payroll Assistant will have responsibility to support the Payroll Manager to ensure fortnightly payrolls are processed and reported accurately and in a timely manner, whilst ensuring adherence to relevant policies and compliance with statutory reporting. The Accounts & Payroll Assistant will also be required to support the Management Accounts team to prepare the month/year end accounts through the posting of journals, reconciliations of costs and collating the summaries.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Process both fortnightly payrolls derived from information from site personnel and company systems.
- Offer backup to Payroll Manager for Monthly Payroll processing
- Managing and resolving employee payroll related queries
- Ensure payroll payments processed on Lloyds Commercial Banking Online
- Responsibility for liaison with HR to ensure employee benefits are reported and costed correctly
- Responsibility for the administration of the Group personal pension plan ensuring monthly returns and payments are made accurately and on time as well as routine administration
- Processing & reviewing expense payments via SAP Concur system
Accounts
- Support for Management Accounts delivery at month and year end
- Develop understanding of Company Accounts, including splits between project costs & overheads
- Post journals on SAP ERP (Company Accounting System)
- Provide ad-hoc SAP and accounts support for Management Accountant
Key Requirements
- Finance Background – Either studied or worked in Finance/Accounting/Payroll previously
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with HR and project teams
- Up to date knowledge of payroll tax legislation
- Desire to develop professionally in the future though further study (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
- Study/Worked in Finance/Accounting/Payroll
- Strong experience working with Microsoft Excel
This role’s contracted location will be our Braintree Office, Located near Freeport. You will be required to travel to sites and offices as and when required, in line with COVID-19 guidelines.
