Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler, Switzerland. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 100 new Stadler trains will be joining the English railway network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK.
Stadler are looking to recruit a Remote Performance Support Manager to join our performance team at Crown Point Depot, Hardy Road, Norwich, NR1 1JR. This role will be an integral part of the performance team, responsible for carrying out duties and ensuring procedures are in place to meet legislative and company standards requirements for the Engineering Directorate functions. This role will also manage elements of the safety management system allocated to the Engineering Directorate for the safe operation of rolling stock and associated projects.
REMOTE PERFORMANCE SUPPORT MANAGER
YOUR TASKS
Organisational:
- Based within a remote Control Room environment to manage the communications to the operator to promote safe, reliable and efficient in service diagnostics and fault recording.
- Offer advice to the customer to reduce and mitigate impact to the running services.
- Record all instances of service faults to ensure the correct information is documented, offer initial advice on symptoms from technical analysis and historic data to inform the Depot teams of any corrective measures needed.
- To represent the Line of Route and be the initial contact for the teams on SRSUK behalf. Attend any joint investigations and performance related investigations regarding disputes and delay attribution.
- Respond to in service breakdowns and take part in a 'first response situation' should emergencies in service arise.
- Safely train Apprentices and other staff members on the full range of their duties as required/instructed.
- Participate in the continuous improvement programs with both the internal and external stakeholders.
YOUR PROFILE
Essential:
- Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship
- Able to carry out fault diagnosis remotely
- Have an excellent understanding of electro-mechanical equipment
- Experience of working with voltages of 110Vdc/415Ac/25kV
- Able to carry out theoretical fault investigations
- Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings
- Positive and flexible approach to work completion
- Excellent communication skills
- High Standard of record keeping
- Investigative and calm nature to approach problems logically
- Work productively as part of a team
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and the operational railway standards
- Able to meet the demands of shift working
- Understanding the principles of network control systems
- Meet the required medical standard
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a safety critical environment
- Experience of Railway engineering
- Experience of working in a high demanding, fluctuating environment
- Flexible approach to working overtime
- Level 3 or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience of working as part of a multi skilled team
- Good working knowledge of Railway Rules and Regulations
