About the Position:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all invoices received from vendors into the accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and undertaking the payment of all creditors in an efficient and timely manner.
Your Duties:
- Receive, process and verify invoices related to accounts payables, and ensure invoices are paid on time.
- Ensure proper coding of vendor invoices to correct job costings and/or general ledger accounts.
- Track purchase orders and process payments that come into the company’s accounting department from suppliers or customers.
- Reconcile vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and provide payment information.
- Add new vendors and process vendor payment terms and types i.e. EFT and cheques.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Ensure all subcontractor insurance is valid and up to date.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, business administration, finance or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a related field required.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting system, budgets and internal controls required
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines is required.
