Bentley Project Management is a team of Project Managers and Cost Managers based in Nottinghamshire, who have extensive experience of the Infrastructure, Residential and Commercial construction markets. What you'll do:
We have a great opportunity to join us in the newly created role of Accounts Assistant. You’ll assist the Head of Finance with all accounting duties, facilitating the accurate and timely production of management accounting information. It’s a great time to join us as you’ll play a key part in implementing a new Finance System. Please note our office is currently based in Lockington but we are moving to a new modern office in Ruddington Business Park from July.
Specific Duties
· Sales Ledger; including managing the customer invoicing process, receipting customer payments and chasing overdue debts.
· Purchase Ledger; including processing supplier invoices, reconciling supplier statements and preparing payment runs.
· General Ledger; posting routine and ad hoc general journals and ensuring timely entry of all transactions to facilitate prompt month end reporting
· Time and Expenses; including processing staff expense claims, ensuring correct treatment of VAT and preparing payment runs. Managing the time booking process and ensuring prompt completion of timesheets.
· Company Credit Cards; obtaining receipts and processing card transactions, ensuring correct treatment of VAT and reconciling to the credit card statement at month end.
· Bank & Cash; reconciling to the bank statement at month end and assisting with the forward monitoring of business cashflow.
· VAT; reconciling tax reports and preparing VAT returns to be submitted in line with HMRC deadlines
· Assisting the Head of Finance with any other accounting duties, where relevant training has been given

We’re looking for a flexible and motivated Accounts Assistant who is keen to learn and be hands on. You’ll enjoy working in a hybrid environment and will have the opportunity to play a key part in supporting the implementation of a new Finance system.
Qualities & Experience essential for the post
· Previous experience of similar Sales and Purchase Ledger responsibilities
· A sound understanding of accounting reconciliation processes
· An understanding of HMRC’s VAT recovery rules
· Ability to work on own initiative and problem solve
· Attention to detail, particularly regarding VAT treatment and General Ledger coding
· Ability to react to changing demands and to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week
Salary: £15,000.00 per year
