Accounts Assistant, Birmingham
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our growing team.

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to provide comprehensive accounts administrative support to the Finance Team, taking responsibility for specific areas as required and delivering an excellent level of service to both internal staff and external clients through efficient and accurate performance in the role.
Some of the key responsibilities would include:
- Monitor and maintain accounts email inbox
- Distribute daily emails to Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger departments
- Obtain approval of purchase invoices via the PO system on bespoke software
- Process staff expenses
- Process credit card statements
- Process debit card transactions on Xero
- Raise intercompany recharge invoices
- Set up staff expenses for new employees
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Process company information forms
- Assisting with month end duties and working with the team to complete all accounting duties in a timely manner
- Set up new clients and suppliers on Xero
- Approve purchase orders
- Distribute finance related post
- Answering telephone calls in relation to purchase ledger
- General admin during busy periods – greeting visitors/telephone calls
Skills and Experience
- Experience of Xero is essential
- AAT qualification or equivalent
- Experience using project management software is desirable (Rapport or equivalent)
- Proven background in transactional accounting
- Previous experience in working in accounts payable
- Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
- The applicant should be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise
- Ability to multitask whilst meeting deadline
- Good team player, with a proactive, collaborative approach
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to liaise at all levels across the business
- Attention to detail essential
