Job description

We are now looking for a talented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support the Accounts team, in a busy, fast-paced environment.

This vacancy is a full-time, permanent position, which consists of 37.5 hours per week.

Job purpose: To assist in the day to day running of the Accounts department, to help maintain an efficient and accurate finance function within the business.

Duties include:

  • Accounts email monitoring
  • Weekly BACS preparation – allocation of payments in Sage/upload payments to bank & send remittances
  • Produce weekly supplier self-bills
  • Daily purchase ledger – uploading to Lightyear, sending out for authorisation & importing to Sage
  • Bank reconciliations – across x4 companies
  • Credit card – Precision Pay & commercials card (using Xero)
  • POA report – ensuring all credit balances are matched off – month end
  • Supplier statement reconciliations – weekly/monthly & ensuring a full ledger reconciliation quarterly
  • Occasional invoicing
  • Petty cash – recording/posted to Sage
  • Call handling
  • Franking post
  • Daily bank posting/post cheques for week (ensure all items on month end bank rec are posted)

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferably working towards AAT (study support provided)
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of SAGE is essential
  • Advanced IT skills, including Word and Excel
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Professionalism
  • Positive attitude
  • Reliability
