ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
Role Specification
Main Purpose of the Role
To assist in the smooth running of all key areas of the Accounts Department as required, focusing duties associated with Purchase and Sales ledgers.
Scope of the Role
- Reviewing, reconciling, and processing supplier invoices / credits
- Reconciliations and recording of company Petty Cash.
- Liaising with the Purchasing department
- Review and process sales invoicing
- Carry out credit control duties where required.
- Resolving / raising queries
- Assist in month-end and year-end requirements.
- Any other duties as requested by Finance Manager, Senior Managers or Directors
- Dealing with external and internal queries regarding invoices, payments, and processes.
- Processing of subcontractor valuations/invoices.
- Liaising with Quantity Surveyors to ensure subcontractor invoices are processed efficiently.
- Investigate, pay, and recharge penalty charges.
- Process and prepare Staff Expenses monthly.
- Reviewing Supplier and Subcontractor Statements ensuring that all invoices have been received, processed, or queried.
- Assisting with holiday cover on other duties and tasks as required.
Education/Qualifications
Essential Desirable
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with high Microsoft Excel – intermediate level. grade in Maths and English
Experience
Previous experience in an accounts-based role.
Skills and Attributes
Computer Literate Excellent knowledge of all MS Office packages
Able to work to deadlines Knowledge of computer-based accounts packages
Excellent flexibility and adaptability
Must be a team player
