Equilent Financial is a reputable financial company based in London, UK, specializing in providing financial services to a wide range of clients. We are currently seeking an Accounting Trainee/Assistant to join our dynamic accounting team. The Accounting Trainee/Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company and gaining hands-on experience in various accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and assisting with financial statement preparation.
  • Assisting with the management of company expenses, including tracking and recording expenses, reviewing expense reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assisting with payroll processing and maintaining accurate payroll records.
  • Assisting with financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis, financial ratios, and other ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax filings, including VAT returns and other tax-related documentation.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and other departments, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance.
  • Supporting the maintenance of internal controls and assisting with audits, as needed.
  • Staying up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Assisting with other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
