SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing support in the functional area of accounting including general ledger, journal entries, budget, P&L, balancing accounts payable records, and filing. Uses ERP system and office-automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects, and respond to inquiries. May reconcile difficult accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting
- Responsible for all daily accounting activities to include revenue recognition, inventory, fixed assets, journal entries, payroll administration & GL maintenance.
- Research discrepancies in invoices with purchasing/materials team.
- Complete month-end responsibilities including providing reports to corporate office and providing timely responses to their inquiries.
- Ability to be proactive, prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, flexibility, and versatility.
Payroll
- Reconcile Payroll and Benefit invoices and process through QAD Journal Entries.
- Serves as backup for processing payroll through Payroll system.
Accounts Payable
- Company credit cards
o Complete reconciliation for company credit cards & ensure monthly invoices are vouchered & paid in a timely manner.
- Maintain 1099 vendors.
- Trouble-shoot problems & resolve issues in a timely manner.
o Assure unmatched packing slips & invoices are not older than 30 days.
o Review Purchase Receipts report monthly
- Manage & maintain Accounts Payable documents & files.
- Other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience; knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems; and manipulation of spreadsheet applications. Excellent computer skills with sound knowledge of common bookkeeping functions a must. BS in Accounting a Plus. Requires minimum of 3 years of private accounting experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential. Must be highly organized, with attention to detail, multi-tasking and meeting commitments.
