UTEC, part of Acteon Group, is one of the world's largest independent offshore and onshore survey providers. We provide a wide range of survey, positioning and data management services using the most advanced equipment and techniques. The data we generate provides our clients with the information they need to make critical, well informed, business decisions.
UTEC are currently looking to hire an Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Aberdeen, the Accountant's main responsibility is to accurately prepare the month end packs and assist the Finance Manager with any day-to-day responsibilities.
Duties
- Partner with Project Managers and Cost Controllers to ensure the project P&Ls are prepared accurately with project level metrics understood.
- Post month end journal entries as required.
- Review of Accounts Receivables, including but not limited to overseeing processing of invoices, preparing revenue accruals, reporting of ageing of accrued revenue with regular updates to the business, attendance at the debtor's review call.
- Responsible for maintaining Fixed Asset Registers and ensuring regular periodic review with the Management Team
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations every month for all entities in the Business Unit and attend bi-monthly Balance Sheet review meetings with Corporate Finance
- Prepare and issue monthly results to General Manager in advance of their performance review call and attend the performance review call.
- Produce and review monthly reporting packs and commentary for required legal entities in accordance with the UTEC Group and Acteon reporting timetable, ensuring packs comply with defined accounting standards and UTEC policy.
- Assist with collation of monthly Business Unit presentation.
- Develop and prepare weekly three-month cash flow.
- Responsible for the upload of the Rolling 18 Month forecast into TM1 and production of the Acteon forecast packs and commentary in line with UTEC Group and AGF reporting timetable.
- Assist with the annual audit of the business unit legal entities and liaison with auditors throughout the audit process.
- Prepare monthly VAT return and upload to HMRC.
- Assist with tax accounting and liaise with KPMG tax teams ensuring deadlines for UK and foreign tax reporting are adhered to.
- Ensure all financial tasks performed by the team are fully documented and IMS documentation remains up to date.
- Maintain accurate files in accordance with agreed standard file structure to ensure ongoing data integrity and compliance.
- Adhere strictly to Company's policies including, but not limited to, anti-bribery and foreign corrupt practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent finance degree essential.
- Part Qualified or Qualified ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA or equivalent essential.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Navision Knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work independently, strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to manage multiple and fast-track priorities with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Experience in the Survey Industry would be advantageous but not essential.
