Supported Lifestyles Ltd. is a not for profit agency that provides support services to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Our mission is to provide highly specialized, quality supports to individuals with complex disabilities.
We are currently looking for an Accounting Assistant to join the Accounting team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will work cohesively in a team to primarily provide payroll and other accounting supports. The typical schedule for this position is a 40 hour work week from Monday – Friday with the typical hours being 8:30am-4:30pm. Some flexibility in hours is required for this position.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the accounting assistant may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Processing payroll on a semi-monthly basis
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Maintaining and filing employee payroll files
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of one year of formal education in payroll or accounting
- Experience working with Avanti payroll system an asset
- Strong organizational skills and must be able to process a large, complex payroll
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Compensation
The annual starting salary for this position is $53,841.82 with three weeks’ vacation to start. We offer a competitive benefits package.
