We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Learning Support Assistant to join our team at our SEN school. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing academic and personal support to students with special educational needs (SEN). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of young adults and helping them achieve their full potential.
We are looking for an immediate start as well as September start!
- Assist students with SEN in accessing the curriculum by providing tailored support in various subjects and activities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individual learning plans for students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
- Foster independence and encourage personal development by promoting self-confidence and self-esteem among students.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students.
- Provide assistance with classroom management, including behaviour management strategies and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help in specific areas.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/guardians.
- Accompany students on educational outings, trips, and visits, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and any concerns or incidents
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to promoting their well-being and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and resources.
- An understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
