Support Worker
Location: Neath
Salary: £11.25 - £11.80 per hour depending on experience, plus £55 per sleep in.
39 hours per week, average of 2 sleep ins per week.

It takes a special person to work with children in care. The children living at our home in Forestry House need your patience and caring nature. The young people who live with us have had childhood trauma, are struggling with their mental health, or both. You’ll support them as they work through difficult issues. You’ll take them to school and support them with day to day activities. There's also days out!
This job has its challenges, and you'll need to support the children consistently. We'll give you all the training you need. There will be tricky days, but the good days make it worthwhile. And you'll have a supportive team around you too!
A day in the life of working at Priority Childcare includes:
- Providing high quality care to the children and young people we support;
- Ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met through a supportive and caring environment;
- Being a positive role model;
- Promoting independence by supporting a range of social, school and work-based activities;
- Working together to ensure support is tailored to meet individual needs;
- Keeping accurate records of all activities, progress, and incidents should they arise;
- General housekeeping duties, including meal preparation.
You’ll need:
- A can-do attitude, resilient nature;
- Previous care experience preferred but not essential.
- MUST hold a current valid driver’s license
- Compassion and empathy;
- Good communication;
- The ability to work flexibly
- To be reliable.
