Salary: 39,004
35 hours per week – permanent contract
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh are expanding the finance team and introducing a new role to deliver critical business partnering relationships to key stakeholders and provide support in interpreting and communicating the financial performance of the College.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will play a key role in supporting and managing key business relationships. Preparing accurate, timely financial and management information you will be responsible for day to day decisions in respect of the maintenance and monitoring of established financial systems & procedures and the nature and format of reporting to all stakeholders.
The post-holder will work closely with colleagues across our Finance team on all aspects of the team’s responsibilities including the maintenance of ledgers, preparation of financial budget packs and provision of Management Information.
They must interpret and communicate the financial performance of the College through the preparation of regular management accounts, monitoring spending, costs and budgets and analysing the value of business activities.

The Person
The College is looking for an enthusiastic candidate: a self-starter with a positive attitude and who is proactive in taking action to resolve issues or deliver tasks. The candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a financial or accounting subject, have experience in management accounting and business partnering and have an attitude to continuously improve processes. Excellent communication skills are required, together with meticulous attention to detail and a flexible approach with the ability to work both independently and within in a team, and to deal with multiple tasks and competing priorities.
Candidates must hold or be working towards a recognised financial or management accounting professional qualification e.g. CA, ACCA or CIMA. The candidate must have experience in a financial or management accounting role.
The candidate must have excellent IT skills including use of the standard office applications and experience with Sage Finance accounting systems.

Remuneration Package
The salary for this role will be £39,004 per annum plus benefits. Additional benefits include:
- Pension: with employer contributions of 9%.
- Holidays: 23 days annual leave (with incremental increase over five years to 28 days) and 11 days public holiday/College close downs. Pro rata for part time working.
