Pace Management Solutions is a Management company located in Downtown Duncan. We offer full management support to many Vancouver Island Businesses which covers everything from financial support, payroll/HR, accounts payable and day to day operations. The current type of companies that we look after range from fine dining, fast food, landscape supply and gas/convenience stores.
Intermediate Accountant
Pace Management Solutions is now looking for an Intermediate level accountant to support the financial team by over seeing the day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing monthly financial statements and supporting documents for a group of companies. This full cycle accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate financial record keeping for the organization.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Prepare monthly internal financial reports in a timely manner.
- Hands-on management of day-to-day full-cycle accounting including general ledger AR/AP, PP&E, accruals, prepayments month end reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP, internal controls, authorization by management, accounting systems and policies
- Preparation & filing of government regulatory reports.
- Capital Asset tracking and other projects as assigned from time-to-time
- Performs monthly and yearly accounting procedure and intercompany reconciliations.
- Preparation of annual budgets based on historical results with input from management.
- Prepare year-end review and preparation of working papers and supporting external auditors in review process.
- Assist with inventory analysis and reporting as needed.
- Proactively participates in process improvement and workflow efforts to streamline projects and improve team efficiencies.
- Guide financial decisions for senior management by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Providing support to external stakeholders and professionals such as accountants, lawyers, bankers, insurance providers and partners.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Comprehensive background in full cycle bookkeeping and financial reporting. Strong preference given for those who have worked with a public practice service provider.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and present independent solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on excel skills.
- Expertise in Sage Simply Accounting
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to deliver efficient and accurate results
- Post Secondary Education in the field of Accounting or Administration preferred, however, significant experience in lieu of education will be considered.
