What will you do?
The Junior Accountant will work with our team on month end and year end reporting and audits. They will also support the other functional areas within the team.
What will you work on?
- Assistance with the preparation of month end and year end financial reporting.
- Data entry support as needed for AP/AR and journal entries.
- Preparation of bank deposits.
- Audit of travel expenses and cheque runs.
- A/R reporting and deduction assistance.
- GL account reconciliation and analysis.
- Mailing and filing of cheques, invoices and statements as required.
- Maintenance of Excel spreadsheets.
- Contact customer and vendors when necessary.
- Assist with manual invoicing as required.
- Retrieve records as required for management and audit purposes.
- Assist with conversion to paperless environment.
- Adhoc projects.
- Liaise with other finance staff and company staff..
To be successful you will have:
- Diploma or Degree in Business or Accounting
- 3 + years experience working in accounting or finance department
What you bring to the team:
- Superior organization skills with ability to plan workload and multitask to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are preferred for maintaining complex worksheets.
- Proficiency with MS-Office programs (Access, Word and Outlook), knowledge of BPCS/AS400 based software would be a asset.
- Fluent in English, strong communication skills, (verbal and written) and professional demeanor.
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills
- Self starter with good learning ability who would work well independently and in a team environment.
- Adaptable to change and to manage in a fast paced environment.
