About us

K&P CPAs was founded in 2017 with a vision of providing full-complement public accounting expertise to smaller and midsize enterprises. The founding partners’ experience was a diverse complement of assurance, taxation, transaction advisory, forensic investigation, and initial public offering support. Our mission has been to provide growth-oriented enterprises with comprehensive and relevant advice in a cost-effective manner.

We are located in midtown Toronto, accessible by subway via Dupont station, and our office employs approximately 12 individuals working in a hybrid workplace model. We’re a, relatively, small firm and this affords our staff the opportunity to learn directly from both senior and intermediate practitioners. The work is diverse, and no two client engagements are identical. We pride ourselves on the unique trait of training CPAs from the ground-up since our founding.

Perks

Throughout the year, our office partakes in a variety of social activities including: busy-season parties on a biweekly basis, volunteering days, half-day Fridays in the summer, and various firm-sponsored outings throughout the year. We offer competitive pay as well as offer incentive compensations commensurate with firm results. Our full-time employees also receive full coverage of their regulatory fees, CPA course fees (both institute and third-party), no blackouts on vacation time, and various opportunities for learning and growth.

Objective of the role

Provide professional services to our clientele, on a full-time basis, including, but not limited to: compilation and assurance engagements, corporate and personal taxation, indirect taxes, support in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency, and various ancillary activities.

Key responsibilities include: (i) preparation of compilation and assurance engagement files, (ii) preparation of corporate and personal tax returns, (iii) preparation of associated tax filings including payroll, dividends, trusts, charity, etc., (iv) bookkeeping for clients that require added support with preparing their records, and (v) direct communication with clients and other stakeholders throughout the process.

Requirements

As we are a public accounting firm, knowledge and area of study in accounting and taxation is critical to this role. Our environment is very friendly and collaborative. We find that our practitioners work very well together and are a welcoming and inclusive workforce. We pride ourselves on having strong social ties with each other and have always been extremely welcoming of new individuals.
