Role: Semi-Senior Accountant
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Location: Sheffield (Office based)
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00
Glu Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Semi-Senior Accountant to join our clients fast growing, successful team based in Sheffield. Main responsibilities:
· Bookkeeping for small and large accounts
· Posting purchase invoices and sales invoices, and reconciling supplier and customer accounts to statements
· Using bank statements to post any additional transactions leading to reconciliation of all bank accounts on the software
· Some foreign currency transactions – possibly multiple bank accounts to reconcile in multiple currencies
· Ad hoc additional work such as Agency reconciliations, Paypal reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, royalty reconciliations, as required job to job
· General client communications (phone calls and emails) requesting records and dealing with general day to day bookkeeping and accounting queries
· From bookkeeping this will lead to preparing the quarterly VAT Returns for each client – for manager review. There will be a number of VAT returns to prepare each month. Each staff member has their own portfolio of jobs they do on a rolling basis
· Also a large proportion of the role will involve preparation of year end accounts – preparing all working paper schedules to create a set of financial statements to draft stage for manager review files are then sent back with review notes to be corrected by the staff member, before being returned to manager for finalisation
· Preparation of personal tax returns for manager review
· May be required to entail some HMRC forms to cover bands touring in foreign countries, withholding tax forms, reconciling figures to a tour budget, or working out a manager’s commission.
Successful candidate:
· Minimum 2+ years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
· ACA or ACCA qualified
· Confident with spreadsheets/Excel
· Knowledge of IRIS.
· Proactive, self-motivated and well organised
· Confidentiality and professionalism
