As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements.
A Day in the Life
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger entries
- Performs statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to general ledger accounts
- Resolves inconsistent or inaccurate financial information in preparation of schedules, account reconciliations and reports
- Assists in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Other duties as assigned, including special projects
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field of study. The ideal candidate plans to pursue CPA
- Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting or other related experience.
- Experience with general ledger functions, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and identifying, researching, and resolving problems
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access. Accounting software
- Experience including the month-end/year-end close processes is strongly preferred
- Experience with intercompany transactions preferred
