We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant or an experienced school business manager who has strong financial and accounting skills. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team you will be providing financial management support for a range of schools as part of our traded service. The role offers a wide and exciting remit, requiring flexibility which may include attending termly evening school governor meetings.
We are looking for a dedicated professional who is approachable, tactful, and able to adopt an innovative approach to solving problems and assisting schools to make effective use of limited resources. You will have excellent analytical skills, quickly able to spot errors and interpret complex financial information accurately. The role means you will be supporting others to understand finance, though the provision of help desk support, guidance notes and in school training.
You will be proficient using Microsoft or Google applications with excellent spreadsheet skills, and ideally have experience implementing finance systems and supporting others to use new finance systems. You will need good keyboard and desktop navigation skills, along with experience using remote technology.
The role involves travelling from West Offices to schools and between schools, with the opportunity to work some time from home. You should hold a full driving licence and be able to attend school meetings in rural villages which may take place early morning or in the evenings. As we provide a traded service for schools, annual leave is predominately taken during the school holidays.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
