BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for an Manager, Financial Accounting. This is a permanent full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the following Accounts Payable activities: invoice posting, GRN management, payment preparation, supplier inquiries, supplier maintenance and GL journal management.
- Reviewing Accounts Payable batches for accuracy and appropriateness of coding and requesting corrections as required.
- Collecting Accounts Receivable and management of payments from customer to bank.
- Overseeing the following Cash Book functions: bank reconciliations, transaction management and posting, EFT and bank wire management.
- Participating in cash flow report preparations and attending meetings to discuss and respond to Accounts Receivable enquiries.
- Generating and distributing monthly management reports including but not limited to: R&D activity reporting, departmental activity reporting, inventory analysis, and selling price analysis.
- Review ERP requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate policies.
- Participating and leading the monthend close process. This work will include posting GL entries, reconciling, reviewing and approval of control accounts, financial analysis of results, and preparation of reporting both internally and to our owners and other stakeholders.
- Leading and participating in the yearend audit to ensure timely completion of this work. This will be accomplished by directing the work of staff, coordinating other department’s requirements, and completion of your own work.
- Overseeing the fixed asset program and verifying controls are in place to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. This includes the following types of transactions: additions, disposals, impairment of assets and generating and recording of any reimbursements received against assets.
- Preparing financial analysis and reports on an adhoc basis as required and at the request of users and stakeholders.
- Managing the corporate expense management software tool (Concur) and providing direction, training, and support to users of this system as well as transferring data to the ERP system.
- Managing the relationship with the corporate travel management firm and ensuring appropriate controls and direction are provided as well as integrating this system with our expense management software tool.
- Managing the corporate credit card program (T&E and purchasing card) to ensure users are maintained and cards are controlled to protect the assets of the company.
- Managing, supervising, and training Senior Accountant, Accountant, Financial Analyst and other staff as required.
- Ensuring compliance to corporate accounting policy and internal controls.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
- University/College business certificate/diploma is required.
- Professional accounting designation is preferred.
- Working toward designation would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Working with ERP systems and other financial software (reporting and budgeting software, expense management, travel management, corporate card, etc.)
- Previous experience managing and directing the work of direct and indirect reports.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a multi-task team environment.
- Excellent decision making skills and strong attention to detail.
