UBT are proud to be working with an industry leading family run SME business based in Winchester. Due to the growth of this business they are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis and is a newly created role. The Accounts Assistant will provide support for the finance operation covering a wide range of accounts including purchase/sales ledger and credit control duties. The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role with attention to detail, providing timely access to financial data ensuring the business maintain liquidity at all times. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Notify the appropriate Manager or Team Leader of any issues.
- Corrective and preventive actions.
- Daily entering on Netsuite of the previous days bank transactions.
- Proactively and reactively contacting customers about outstanding invoices by phone and email, and updating call notes on NetSuite.
- Following the credit control process for managing debt chasing and processing account applications.
- Managing invoice queries, investigate discrepancies and raise credit notes
- Use Creditsafe and credit insurance to monitor and manage customer credit limits, adjust accordingly working with the sales team and the customer.
- Entering of purchase invoices and receipts, following up missing copies to support the month closure by 12th of the month following.
- Checking with a known contact at suppliers to verify any change in bank details.
- Calculate monthly goods in transit figure.
- Request updates to department forecasts.
- Report building and analysis as required in Excel or Netsuite.
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant role
- Progressing towards AAT qualifications
- Efficient credit control to enable liquidity and support the customer
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial information
