The Travelopia Sports Travel & Events Division is part of the Travelopia Group, a KKR owned company. The division is based in modern offices in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and contains Gullivers Sports Travel – a 50-year-old brand focussed on delivering sports travel experiences to major sporting events worldwide, Howzat Travel the UK’s No.1 cricket tour operator and Events International – another long-established business which is a market leader in hospitality at sporting events.
Reporting to the Events Division’s Finance Manager, you would be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and customer receipts, along with performing regular bank reconciliations. This role’s primary responsibility is Gullivers Sports Travel with a secondary focus on supporting another member of staff with Events International. Ultimately, you would help our team run efficiently, assist with both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
What you will be doing:
Daily reconciliation of bank statements, recording any new payments and/or receipts
Working with the team to reconcile bank transactions to the accounting system and reservation system
Processing customer receipts and refunds and allocating them in the reservation system as appropriate
Reconciling customer accounts and resolving queries
Processing all purchase invoices, direct debit payments and expenses
Creating and submitting payment runs for authorisation
Process monthly credit card statements
Importing sales and purchase invoices into Sage
Assisting in month end procedures where required
Assisting in year-end audit
What we are looking for:
AAT Level 2/3 preferred or studying towards an accountancy qualification.
Experience within the travel and/or sports industry is desirable
Experience of multicurrency transactions is desirable
Proficient in MS Office apps, with particular focus in Excel
Familiarity with Sage, Sun and/or automated accounting software packages is desirable
Enthusiastic, ambitious and keen to develop
Highly organised, flexible and thorough in approach
Highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty, and strong work ethic
Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical skills
Happy to travel on occasional sporting tours
