Job description
Job Specification
Account Manager
Position: Account Manager
Location: United Kingdom (home based)
Reporting to: Founder/Company Director
Overview
Our client has an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine desire to play a key role in growing their agency. They
have ambitious plans, are passionate about the work they do for their clients and are committed to investing in their
team to stay at the forefront of the industry.
The client is looking for an Account Manager with strong experience of the technology and electronics markets to support
clients and help secure new business opportunities. The chosen candidate will have an established network of key
industry influencers and proven experience in the implementation of integrated PR and marketing campaigns that
deliver measurable returns. Keen knowledge of the European media landscape is essential in helping clients maximise
all channels (incl. digital) to amplify content, drive visibility and get results.
You will be well supported; you should have the required confidence to develop strategies, leading new business
pitches and having a degree of gravitas in front of clients and prospects alike.
The new Account Manager will be expected to play an active part in running the business. The client will be very transparent about
the plans for the business; in turn, they expect the Account Manager to take personal responsibility and implement
various ways of working that will be future-proof, scalable and efficient.
Company background
The company was founded in April 2017. They are aiming to climb PR Week’s UK chart and their goal is to make it to the
top by creating an inspiring agency – an agency where clients get more respect and appreciation, a more personalised
service and better results. We are committed to creating high-impact PR and marketing campaigns, whilst adhering
fully to the guidelines and ethics charter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The client has the right mix of strategic flair and market knowledge on a global basis. Other than the company
Director, the team includes a Senior Account Manager, a Client Services Manager, an Advertising Manager, a Digital
Marketing Manager, an Account Executive and two PR Assistants (both working part-time). They also employ technical
writers, graphic designers and translators – all working in a freelance capacity. The Account Manager is a highly
strategic appointment for the business.
Flexible and remote working options form an integral part of this role. They are committed to providing a work-life
balance for their employees. The client always aims to do a great job for their clients but will not tolerate doing this at the cost of
an employee’s well-being. If you’re working late regularly then the client will see this as a failure on the part of themselves to
provide sufficient account support resource or manage client expectations properly. Their long-term goal will be to have
the industry’s lowest staff turnover.
The Account Manager will be invited to regular social events and activities, including a company anniversary’s away
week-end (on or around April 8), summer barbecue and Christmas lunch.
