You and your team


Reporting to Head of Acquisition Marketing, you would be responsible for managing relationships with all customer acquisition/new business partners for our card products in Vanquis. You would be accountable for optimising the channel and your respective accounts and negotiating commercials. You would also be responsible for onboarding new strategic partners to drive further growth alongside diversifying the customer recruitment channels in response to an increasingly competitive market.


Your day-to-day task will include (but won’t be limited too):


  • Responsible for the strategic planning and optimisation of specific affiliate partners across Cards.
  • Accountable for ensuring the day-to-day performance of new business volumes vs target through ongoing supplier negotiation and management.
  • Identification and delivery of new cost or growth opportunities for affiliates.
  • Responsible for the management of the affiliate budgets covering planning, cost negotiation and optimisation. The role is accountable for ensuring the best deal is delivered for Vanquis.
  • Lead partner monthly and quarterly business reviews, alongside Heads of Department within the affiliate teams & lead day-to-day partner engagement.
  • Use affiliate insights to gain internal support for new products, price points or decisioning which allows the channel to grow.
  • Manage tactical pricing and offers (within an agreed framework) as required to achieve business outcomes.
  • Managing internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Credit Risk, Finance and Compliance, to effectively prioritise and deliver on projects which allow the affiliate channel to grow.
  • Quickly resolve issues impacting the affiliate channel or escalate where required to ensure speedy resolution and minimal impact to performance.

What you’ll bring to the team


We are seeking a candidate who has prior experience of working in a regulated environment, with credit card or lending experience preferred, but not essential. We’d love you to have a proven track record of delivering growth through a range of direct-to-consumer distribution channels, affiliates and aggregators.


To be successful in this role, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:


  • Excellent, detailed technical understanding of the Affiliate and Aggregator channels.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to identify and quantify opportunities and impacts.
  • Commercially astute and numbers focused.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience of leading commercial negotiations with third parties.
  • Strong team player with impeccable communication and organisation skills. Being part of a small team means taking ownership from start to finish.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team and to tight deadlines.
  • Time management and prioritisation - ability to prioritise workload, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

This role is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week working on a hybrid basis. This role is based from our London office. This opportunity is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days a week in the office. For the right candidate, we can consider a flexible working pattern for this role.
