Job Summary


The Accommodation Manager UK role has core responsibility for overseeing our accommodation offering. This is a cross-functional role involving liaising with the operations teams in each of our UK centres to ensure we have a range of accommodation options to meet the expectations of our students. For Bayswater to grow we need to ensure we always have sufficient accommodation capacity in each location. Having good quality host families, house shares, hotels, hostels and student residences at market prices within easy reach of our college will drive sales and lead to high customer satisfaction. Bayswater is growing at such a pace that we expect in 2023 to need 100s of new host families and beds in student residences.


The Accommodation Manager UK will require excellent communication and inter-personal skills, always projecting a courteous and professional manner when representing Bayswater. You will be needed to lead on the project to recruit host families, to be able to source and negotiate contracts with student residences and develop our own shared house offering.


Role Location:

  • This is a hybrid role requiring regular travel to our UK centres in Liverpool, London, Brighton and Bournemouth (typically visiting 2 centres per month)
  • You can be located anywhere in the UK so long as you can reach those centres easily, most preferably in Liverpool, Brighton or Bournemouth
  • We are flexible if you wish to work from one of our centres or from your home


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each location has sufficient accommodation options to meet expected demand at any time and track availability and plan capacity in cooperation with Centre Managers
  • Drive the growth in homestay family recruitment through marketing and creating a pipeline
  • Monitor feedback of students to establish trends
  • Train teams locally to deal with accommodation issues that arise and be able to foster good relationships with accommodation providers
  • Regularly visit accommodation providers to ensure they adhere to policies and standards of Bayswater
  • Research the market to benchmark Bayswater’s offering against our competitors in each location and work with the marketing team to produce new marketing materials and set accommodation pricing
  • Oversee cost control of accommodation providers and identify strategies to maximise accommodation profitability
  • Keep up to date on all aspects of student welfare and health & safety. Make an ongoing commitment to develop your knowledge of safeguarding regulations for children and young people in accommodation.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree and welfare qualification
  • Experience in working in homestay recruitment or student residence sales & marketing (desired)
  • Experience of safeguarding of children and best practices (desired)
  • Highly collaborative and able to work with teams to deliver results
  • Numerate and IT literate with competence in Excel
  • Highly organised and able to manage a varied and demanding workload
  • A keen eye for detail and a methodical and diligent approach
