We are recruiting for an Access Assistant / Support Worker to work with one of our Technical Learning specialists (Guide Dog Trainer.)
Working as a driver and admin support this role will enable the person supported to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
An Access Assistant does not fulfil the role for the individual but enables the person supported to carry out their role by supporting tasks to enable them to be successful in their role.
This role will require the successful candidate to be physically fit as there will be a requirement to lift and carry objects up to 20kg. The working hours will be split between working outdoors in the community and being office based.
Handling dogs will also be part of the role.
This role is for 15 hours a week spread over Tuesday to Friday. The successful candidate will need to be flexible as the days / hours will vary to fit with the Trainers work schedule.
There will also be 26 days paid holiday, pro rata, (excluding bank holidays) a year.

Essential
- A full UK driving licence.
- Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total integrity.
- Positive, team player, flexible and thorough in ways of working
- Proven ability to use initiative and able to work effectively under pressure
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
- Proven, demonstratable ability to take a person-centred approach, build trust and work in a close one to one working relationship.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a similar role
- Experience of supporting people with disabilities, in a work or voluntary capacity.
