Job description
We are now open for applications for the Accelerated Detective Constable Programme. People with a curious, inquisitive mind, who think they have what it takes to be a detective, are encouraged to apply.
You will be required to complete a year of intensive training and practical experience to ensure that the requirements of a police constable are met. Within this year, you will be posted to a Response team who provide the initial response to both emergency and non-emergency calls. After 5 months you will then be posted to a team that investigates volume crime. This will be for 11 weeks and will build upon knowledge and experience gained to that point.
The second year of the programme you will focus on detective training and providing you the skills to become a detective constable. You will get the opportunity to work within a number of different investigation teams, including those that deal with intelligence, serious sexual offences and serious assaults.
No previous policing experience is necessary to apply but it is essential that anyone applying displays the skills and attributes suited to the role, including an inquisitive mind, excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of integrity. It’s a challenging job but also one which is extremely diverse and rewarding.

Starting Salary is £26,682 per annum.
