Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to practice independently as a senior practitioner within a consultant-led team, providing clinician support and support to trainee clinicians during a span of duty. Demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and clinical attributes, enabling him/her to provide expert clinical and professional support to other clinicians and staff.
There is an expectation of continuous professional development within the role that will include completion of the HEE Advanced Clinical Practice in Acute Medicine Curriculum Framework. The post holder will be expected to deliver 80% clinical and 20% non clinical duties encompassing all pillars of the ACP framework, whilst being supported through clinical supervision by an acute medicine consultant. The role will include working across a shift system which will include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

For candidates who are not currently qualified, but are enrolled to a university to complete their ACP qualification, a band 7 trainee post will be considered if applicants are able to demonstrate experience working at a senior nurse/practitioner level within the urgent and emergency car setting. Transition to Band 8a will occur on completion of the ACP course, and a period of consolidation of learning through completion of set objectives.

The Trust uses electronic new starter forms on Trac to collect personal details. Information collected is securely stored and used to set up the employee record on the ESR HR system.
