Why this job matters

As 3rd Line IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will enable and ensure the support and delivery of end user support area as part of the overall EMS Technical Services remit. This remit includes 3rd line support to underpin the shared services support model, consultancy to internal and external customers, design assurance and training & knowledge sharing with upstream support teams.

The 3rd Line IT Infrastructure support specialist will be responsible for maintaining appropriate skills within the team to support existing and new customer requirements in line with the EMS Service Catalogue and portfolio. The role requires an innovative, engaging, driven individual who has a proven record of achievement and experience in collaborating across teams of highly skilled technical experts.

What you’ll be doing

1. Delivering successful technical resolutions to complex customer issues escalated by second line
2. Planning of complex change with first time delivery to ensure sustained service across wide ranges of products and solutions
3. Service management and design support on existing and new contracts
4. Working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers to understand the requirements and build an effective working relationship to ensure smooth running of contracts
5. Available when required to work out of hours either on an overtime or oncall basis

What we would like to see on your CV

1. Strong customer focus and drive to provide proactive, pre-emptive and best in class service
2. Engagement with 3rd party vendors in advanced troubleshooting and problem solving
3. Proven ability to execute plans under difficult circumstances; confronts and resolves conflict; demonstrates high energy
4. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to SC level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 5 years
5. Ideally two or more of the following technical skillsets at an advanced level: Server operating system management, Citrix Server, Netscaler, Exchange – Private / O365, Office 365 or Infrastructure (BackOffice)
