Reports to: Service Desk Team Leader

This is a hybrid remote role. Intially, you will be required to attend onboarding meetings in the Reading area, beyond that period we will typically meet as a team once per month in the Reading area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a mid-sized provider of IT Infrastructure Managed Services. Due to rapid growth we are looking to add ambitious, driven individuals to our existing Managed Service Support team with scope to progress quickly as we grow.

You will be joining a dynamic and diverse technical team with complimentary skills with a high degree of collaboration and a commitment to world class service. This is a challenging place to work and very rewarding where constant learning is essential and performance is measured by outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with 1st line to to provide advice and handle escalations in line with SLAs
  • Take ownership of assigned cases throughout the lifecycle of support
  • Ensure that all customer support calls and incidents are handled effectively with regular client communication conducted throughout
  • Own and assist with regular tasks and functions that are key to service provision

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and good telephone manner
  • Be a self-starter, initiative-taker and be driven to achieve goals
  • Possess the ability to manage and prioritise personal workloads
  • Work well in pressured situations and work to deadlines

Relevant experience is required in the following areas:

  • VDI (ideally Azure Virtual Desktop)
  • Backup: Veeam, EVault, Arcserve, BackupExec or similar
  • Virtualisation: VMware ESXi
  • Cloud: Azure IaaS and SaaS, Microsoft 365
  • Windows Server Fundamentals (Active Directory, Group Policy etc.)

Experience in any of the following technology areas would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Cloud: Azure, AWS
  • Virtualisation: Hyper-V or similar
  • Server & Platform: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy & Exchange
  • Storage: Compellent, 3PAR, MSA
  • Networking: Firewalls, routers, load balancers, switches across a variety of vendors
  • Service Desk: ITIL v3 or v4

  • 35 hour week (shifts rotate between 7am – 3pm, 9am – 5pm and 11am – 7pm)
