From a UK network of over 30 offices, from Inverness in the North to Truro in the South-West, our surveyors and rural professionals offer a range of advice to clients including traditional estate management, the preparation of farms and estates for sale, forestry management and investment, as well as consultancy services such as valuation or acting in the delivery of infrastructure projects.

Locations:
Cirencester – The Cirencester Tetbury Road office are team of management, valuation, food and farming, tourism, events & leisure, natural capital and agency in the rural sector. In the last 10 years the office has grown rapidly, allowing our specialist service lines to extend and expand across our patch of the Midlands, South Wales and the South West.
Taunton - The Taunton office are seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individual to work alongside our experienced rural estate management team, working across the south west region with a range of varied and interesting clients and based from our friendly Office in Taunton.
Truro – The Truro office are looking for a graduate to support the Rural & Projects team that operates throughout Cornwall. The role will be assisting two Directors on a wide range of both privately and institutionally owned rural property portfolios, dealing with all aspects of property management. There will be cross over with the Professional team where necessary, particularly helping with portfolio valuation work on the managed estates.
Newcastle - The Newcastle Rural Management Team consists of twelve people managing property throughout the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and County Durham operating as part of a multi discipline office, providing strategic advice to a range of established clients in the rural property sector. The work is varied and no day is the same with the property under management including some of the region’s most iconic landscapes. As well as day to day management we work with colleagues to deliver a range of projects including forestry creation, renewables, residential development sites, holiday enterprises and natural capital schemes.
Salisbury - A team of fourteen staff based in the Salisbury and Bath offices which works closely alongside the Professional and Food and Farming teams. We look after estates spread across Wiltshire, Dorset, North Somerset, West Hampshire and into East Devon. Our clients include some from the public sector, traditional institutions and private clients including some trophy estates such as Longleat. In most cases our role is to develop and implement an estate strategy for our clients which means that we are involved with all aspects of rural estate ownership and frequently work closely with colleagues from a wide range of specialised teams.
Working within a multi-disciplinary office but forming part of the wider South East Professional team, the Professional team in Salisbury is responsible for Savills' rural valuation and advisory business across Wiltshire & Dorset. This involves the valuation of rural and prime residential assets, compulsory purchase, negotiations, rural landlord and tenant and expert witness work. The team work closely as part of the wider rural professional valuation and advisory team across the south of England, with colleagues in Petworth, Winchester and Bath.
Sevenoaks - The Sevenoaks office has approximately twenty people that sit within Rural & Projects Division. The teams that sit within this department are farm agency, management, forestry, food & farming and architectural building surveying. Graduate will gain experience across all R&P disciplines for the APC but will focus on Estate Management.
Norwich - Savills has been at the heart of rural property in Norfolk since 1950. The sixteen staff within the Rural department undertake management, professional, agency and farming work, integrating closely with Residential, New Homes and Development teams which provide a very strong position across the key property sectors in the county. The office is led by experienced, forward thinking Directors who are key players in their regional, and in some cases national, complemented by a vibrant next generation. This engenders a great sense of collaboration and, crucially, fun in our work.
Winchester - The role involves support for both institutional clients – such as Winchester College, Defence Estate (MoD), Winchester Cathedral and the Church plus a number of keys private estates such as Welford (home of Great British bake off), Mapledurum and Exbury. The Rural team includes farm agency, minerals, valuations and forestry teams to ensure plenty of APC experience.
Edinburgh/ Perth - The role will be based in Edinburgh assisting a large rural consultancy team working across Scotland for a range of clients. The team is a dynamic mix of specialists including valuation, compulsory purchase, contentious landlord and tenant and ad hoc consultancy. We specialise in prime rural and residential property and no day is never the same. The role would be working alongside two other graduates going into their second year of training, and assisting seven other qualified chartered surveyors and valuers. The York office covers all aspects of Rural property, with teams focusing on estate management, valuation and agency. There is the opportunity to gain experience across all sectors working with high profile clients across Yorkshire and the North East.
Carlisle - The Carlisle Rural team has a blend of professionals undertaking a mixture of rural management, valuations, lettings and consultancy through Cumbria stretching south along the M6 corridor and across to the North East. The office comprises a friendly team of twelve with additional disciplines being forestry, food and farming and architecture and building surveying servicing a diverse client base from private estates and local authorities to large institutions and charitable landowners.
York - The York office covers all aspects of Rural property, with teams focusing on Estate Management, Valuation and Agency. There is the opportunity to gain experience across all sectors working with high profile clients across Yorkshire and the North East.
About this role
As a graduate on the rural pathway, no one day is the same. In a typical day, a rural graduate could be out walking boundaries and inspecting crops, dealing with residential, commercial or agricultural landlord and tenant issues, carrying out property refurbishments or negotiating terms for access agreements and easements. The breadth of experience that Savills graduates obtain is second to none.”

Training

As a graduate, you'll also have regular opportunities to attend technical, business skills and personal development activities - including conferences, courses, lectures, networking, mock assessments, revision sessions and social events - which compliment both your practical experience and meet the theoretical requirements of your APC.
You will have an APC supervisor and counsellor who support and guide you throughout the two year training programme. They will discuss your training and experience needs at regular progress reviews, ensuring you receive the support you require.

Once you've successfully passed your APC and become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), you'll continue to receive training and career development opportunities.
