Markets Operations is accountable for handling and mitigating risk, trade settlement and adhering to financial regulatory obligations for Commercial Banking Markets and Group Corporate Treasury. We support clients globally and LBG teams in London, across the UK and our New York offices.

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our Middle Office team in Markets Operations. Our team supports a number of different partners and work streams so an agile and flexible mind-set will be pivotal to your success in role. This role also requires a close working relationship with Front Office partners and the ability to meet the challenges of a dynamic trading environment. You'll help support the day to day running and tasks assigned to the team and have the chance to grow your product knowledge and partner management skills.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaising regularly with the wider business to discuss and collaboratively solve OTC challenges
  • Provide Trade Support services to the Derivatives Business, this includes both OTC and Exchange traded Derivatives.
  • Have knowledge of additional products such as Forex, Futures and Credit Default Swaps.
  • Work closely with technology, establish required system enhancements, drive prioritisation and plan/manage change for the function.
  • Demonstrably control all work in progress, escalating where appropriate
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements, as a result of errors, changing market practices / requirements, volume changes, or efficiency opportunities
  • Understand and follow all requirements of regulatory regimes and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular updates to Operations management
  • Provide a professional service to all internal and external clients, and constructive input to work ongoing in other areas.
  • Assist with the evolution of the Derivatives Support function, evaluate the go-forward operating model and enable new business initiatives.
  • Contribute towards simplifying any complex, inefficient process' and show demonstrable improvement
  • Ensure the functions regulatory responsibilities are understood with processes and controls established to ensure compliance.
  • Processing of mid-life events linked to Derivatives transactions including unwinds, knock events, expiries, assignments, exercises, interim swap payments and corporate actions
  • Responding to Front Office enquires and clearing issues.
  • Timely management of exceptions in trade flow, with appropriate escalation for aged items.
  • Monitor ongoing support needs to address changes and gap
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, while reducing risk across all touch-points in the trade path
  • Ensure the accurate and timely escalation and resolution of all inquiries
  • Address ad hoc queries from operations, technology, and the front office
Essential Skills:
  • Good understanding of ISDA 2006 & 2021 Definitions
  • Front to back understanding of Derivative Trade Flow, including Trade Capture, Confirmation, Settlements, Compression, Valuations and transaction reporting.
  • Full understanding of Derivative Products and their lifecycle events and their associated regulations.
  • Equivalent experience at an Investment Bank, working in an Interest Rates Derivative Middle / Back Office capacity.
  • Knowledge of Derivatives and Operations experience will be an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft products and Internet technologies
  • Highly disciplined, a self-starter, and the ability to execute on assignments independently
  • A team player who demonstrates work ethic and consistently demonstrates a high-level of professionalism
  • Attention to detail with superior written, verbal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the Line of Business
  • Strong capacity for operating in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking is required
