The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. As continuation of an improvement programme to have safe and timely discharge of patients from inpatient ward areas across the acute hospitals, we are now looking to build and spread the successful changes from the initial work to other inpatient clinical areas. We are looking to recruit a diverse skill mix of technical staff to join the pharmacy team to enhance the patient experience during their hospital stay. These posts are an opportunity to enable the enhancement of the Pharmacy service to support the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service within the hospital setting and support the multidisciplinary team to deliver best care to patients.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to work within the technical team as a Pharmacy Support Worker - higher level. As a pharmacy support worker within hospital services you’ll be part of well-established teams delivering high quality pharmaceutical care to patients. You’ll participate in assisting in the provision of a range of technical pharmacy services. This will involve competencies within the dispensary, distribution and clinical.
The successful candidate must be educated to SCQF Level 6 with relevant work experience in a healthcare or pharmacy environment. The completion of an in-house competency-based Group Award accredited via Edinburgh College within 12 months of commencing the post will also be required. The completion of in-house training programme to demonstrate competency for role will also be required.
