We are looking for a Data Analyst - Student Accounts to join our team.
This role will be critical to the success of the Student Accounts Team and will play an important part in ensuring that Kaplan collects fees from its students. You will already have good experience of dealing with large amounts of data, the ability to understand and manipulate the data and to develop formats for it to be presented to various levels within the organisation including the student accounts team, the senior finance staff, and College Directors.

What you’ll bring to the role
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating and daily management and analysis of credit control master tracking sheets. You will be the data owner across our colleges of these sheets, and ensuring consistency of these is critical to delivering reliable analytics.
Tracking intake dates and termly start dates based on Master Course Listing.
Mail merges for payment reminders to students and their fee payers.
Weekly analysis of credit control trends and data for senior management within our colleges
Advising on and design of further enhancements to our data analytics for credit control, senior finance, and college staff
Ownership of data quality in student accounts, identify any inaccuracies in student accounts and system reporting, working with IT, banking, and other team members to fix issues identified.
Other Ad-Hoc project work around systems and improvements as capacity allows and to support individual career development for the successful candidate.
Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your manager
With your experience, you’ll have:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economic, Management or other business-related subjects
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, which will have involved extensive use of excel and have been within the finance area of a company.
Advanced excel skills with V-look up, Pivot tables (Sum-if formulae / Index Match) as a minimum. Charts and graphs would be beneficial but not compulsory.
Quick to understand processes, systems and data
A keen eye and attention to detail
Ability to manage large sets of data that has multiple reporting points
Ability to distil large amounts of data into a simple format
Ability to easily zoom in on details, and zoom out to high-level analysis
Ability to interpret data to advise on trends and expected outcomes
Ability to think from the perspective of the end user and tailor analysis and reporting appropriately
A logical approach to problem-solving
