Are you enthusiastic and self motivated? Could you fit into our friendly team? We are looking for Radiographic Assistant (RDA) to join the Breast Screening Department in Ardmillan House, Edinburgh. This post is 20 hours per week (4 days) subject to service demands.
We are a large Breast Screening department screening in excess of 70,000 women per year across the South East of Scotland. We have one static centre and a number of mobile units in the area and are one of the two teaching centres in Scotland. This is happy and welcoming department often working closely with the symptomatic breast unit at the Western General Hospital.
The clinical Breast Imaging team consists of Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Radiographers, Advanced Practitioner Radiographers, Specialist Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and RDA’s. RDA’s contribute to the smooth running of the breast screening department and the successful candidate will work closely with all staff groups.
You will assist and chaperone Consultant Radiologists and Radiographers in ultrasound and biopsy procedures, whilst providing excellent patient care and support to our clients. You will also assist with admin and image management from screening clinics in all our units. This includes; uploading to PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System), checking image batches and collating paperwork. You will maintain equipment and stock levels. Good IT skills are essential and knowledge of PACS is advantageous. You should have good communication and organisation skills, be able to show initiative and work independently.
Training will be provided for all aspects of the post.
