This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
NHS Lothian Maternity services are currently inviting final year Midwifery Students or newly qualified midwives to apply for Band 5 Preceptorship Staff Midwife positions within NHS Lothian. These posts will enable you to consolidate your training and provide the full range of midwifery care across all care settings including Community, Outpatient, and Inpatients in Lothian Maternity Service. These posts are permanent, on a rotational contract, offering various hours and offer band 6 progression
As a newly registered midwife and autonomous practitioner you will plan and implement maternity care for 'high' and 'low' risk women within an integrated maternity service. The post holder will lead the management of low-risk pregnancies and births and work closely with the multi-professional team within the acute and primary care setting.
