Job Title: Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship

Full time Salary: £21,260.20 per year plus 31 days paid leave

Hours: 37 hours per week on a shift basis(please note that shift work will entail evenings, weekends and bank holidays)

Qualification:Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice

Centre 404 is a friendly, local and thriving charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in North London.

This permanent job opportunity, incorporating a 20-month Youth Support Worker Apprenticeship scheme provides a perfect way to earn a wage while you gain vital work experience and a nationally recognised qualification. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and be given protected time to complete your course work. The scheme is designed for individuals who are living and entitled to work in England and are not in full-time education. A work history in support work is not a requirement as we select based on values rather than experience.

You will support the Learning and Leisure Service within Centre 404 in many aspects of its work which includes the provision of group activities, holiday play-schemes and Outreach for children and young people (CYP) with a learning disability. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to observe, shadow and work alongside our Support Workers and project staff, delivering excellent services for children and young people with an emphasis on helping develop skills, confidence and relationships.

You’ll get to see the direct impact you are making by offering children and young people with learning disabilities the support they need to enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities, choices and quality of life as others within the wider community.

The ethos behind all our services is to offer support that is empowering, person-centred, promoting choice and integration, as well as reducing isolation. We are always looking for friendly, energetic people to join us in achieving this valuable purpose and to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of those we support.

How to apply: Please submit a CV, ideally along with a cover statement (either within the email itself or as an attachment), addressing the following:

Tell us more about why you are interested in this apprenticeship and what you would bring to this post in terms of your knowledge, skills and ambition”.

Centre 404 is dedicated to staff development and supervision and we will provide a detailed induction and on-going training and support. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk and we are looking to recruit people who share these values. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.

We are dedicated to providing a meaningful and rewarding work environment, as well as offering a range of perks and benefits for our staff to enjoy.

Centre 404 is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
