Evening Youth Support Worker - Southampton and Eastleigh

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Youth Worker to join our friendly, professional delivery team working directly with children and young people. Your role will be to support, develop and engage children and young people to develop their social and emotional capabilities, make informed life choices, improve mental health and wellbeing, develop new skills, engage positively in learning and with their local communities and to stay safe.
You will be part of our Youth Support team, delivering street-based (detached) and centre-based youth work across Southampton and Eastleigh Borough. As part of that team, you will be deliver of a range of activities and support including sports, games, arts and crafts, life-skills workshops and provide information, advice and guidance. In doing so, you will help develop their social and emotional capabilities, make safe, informed choices, address issues they are facing and engage with informal learning.
This position requires a dynamic, enthusiastic, and flexible person with experience of working with young people. You must have the ability to provide ongoing support for young people and be able to plan, run and monitor group activities.
You will be required to work two or three evenings a week (depending on whether it is a full time or part-time contract) and occasional weekend working will be expected a few times a year.
