Job description
We are urgently seeking a tutor to work with our Youth Support apprentices. You will be involved in apprenticeship training and on occasion, delivery of traineeships depending on your availability.
Your main role will be apprenticeship delivery. Although this is teaching, you will be more involved in coaching and mentoring your case load of apprentices through their apprenticeship. You will be working with apprentices on both a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups when needed.
You can view the Youth Support Worker occupational standard on the Institute for Apprenticeships website. The occupational standard lists the Knowledge, skills and behaviours that you are required to teach our apprentices to ensure they are ready for EPA.

Mentoring and coaching the learner and collecting evidence to ensure the learner is ready for their end point assessment will be a large part of your role. You will have a clear set of KPI’s and will manage your own diary to ensure you achieve these, organisation skills, excellent time management and planning skills are key to ensure you can keep track of your apprenticeship caseload.
This role is designed specifically for those who need to fit it around any current commitments they may already have. This is also suitable for those looking to either change career or need a new challenge after working in the sector for many years.
There is plenty of opportunity for progression through further training and taking on additional responsibilities should you choose to do so after working with us for a period of time. This is optional and we will be able to offer a lot more hours over the coming months should this be of interest.
If you do not already hold a teaching/assessing qualification, we are able to deliver this to you as part of your role as we are fully accredited to deliver teacher and assessor training. We are a supportive team and we always promote a strong team ethic where our workplace is a good nice to be.
Initially, this role is for 6 hours per week and will increase soon. These hours are flexible and can be worked throughout the week or on a set day. You are not expected to increase your hours as demand increases however, this is purely optional and we will utilise our existing team where needed.
