Do you want to work for an ambitious social impact start-up?

Do you want to grow with a company with international expansion plans?

Are you passionate about supporting underrepresented young people to become the leaders of tomorrow?

We have a really exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role as Youth Partnerships & Community Manager at Circl. This is a role with incredible scope and opportunities for quick progression. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter to play a key role in building and shaping our amazing Circl Community.

What Do We Do?

At Circl, We believe in a new kind of leadership – one that has empathy, inclusion and empowerment at its core. We believe in a world where anyone can learn to lead, regardless of their background.

The Circl Leadership Development Programme is the first of its kind. We train professionals at top businesses alongside Future Leaders (18 - 24 year olds) from under-represented backgrounds in 'the coach approach' to leadership via an online programme of workshops and 1 to 1s across 2 to 4 months.

Each professional is matched 1 to 1 with a Future Leader and they apply the skills they learn by coaching each other on their real-life challenges and goals. Everyone's an equal on the programme with the young people coaching the professionals just as much as the professionals coach the young people.

The incredible outcome is that both the professionals and the young people gain the skills and experience to be able to build real trust with people different from themselves. What’s more, all participants (both professionals and young Future Leaders) receive the same level of professional coaching qualification recognised by the Association for Coaching on completion.

The Circl Leadership Development Programme is a uniquely effective way to help businesses build a coaching culture, while giving talented young people the skills they need to succeed and achieve their goals. The business model is also unique as the participating companies pay for their teams (normally in cohorts of 15), while also paying for the experience and certification of the young Future Leaders.

We’ve already done amazing work with lots of young people and businesses includingBarclays, Depop, McKinsey, Meta, Uber, eBay, O2, Etsy, British Land, Allen &* Overy, Google, Hello Fresh, Innocent, Landsec, PepsiCo, Trustpilot, Three Mobile, Nespresso *and many more.

What Will You Do as Youth Partnerships and Community Manager?

In this role you will be working across two key areas of Circl, the Youth Partnerships space & the Community space. These areas of your work will be interchangeable as they are each busier and quieter at different times of the year.

Your primary focus in our Youth Partnerships space will be building relationships and partnering Circl with Youth Organisations, from Schools and Unis to Youth Charities and Worldwide Youth Networks. You will be ensuring that the Circl Programme is consistently and widely advertised to communities of young, highly talented, but underrepresented 18 - 24 year olds worldwide.

Your work in our Community space will involve building, supporting, and maintaining our Circl Community of Future Leaders & Professionals. You will be supporting the community both online and offline, helping them get the most value out of their Circl experience.

So, for example, at times you will be working to increase the number of amazing applications from potential Future Leaders wanting to join our programmes. Then at others, you will be engaging with our wider Community, empowering them to take full advantage of our Circl Network before, during, and after their programmes.

As part of the role you will be supporting the Programme Delivery Team when they are interviewing potential Future Leaders and when they are running the programmes themselves. You might be helping with interviews, joining workshops, or managing enquiries from participants via the Circl support inbox. Supporting programme delivery will bring you closer to our Future Leaders, Professionals, and their journey through the Circl experience. This insight will give you a great perspective on how best to engage with different youth organisations and community members.

You’ll be reporting directly to the Programme Delivery Lead. It is the Programme Delivery Lead’s ultimate responsibility to make sure each programme has the right number of Future Leaders and Professionals, and is executed to the highest quality for maximum impact.

Youth Partnerships Responsibilities:

  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Relationships with Youth Organisations: You’ll be required to build, manage and maintain relationships with key contacts from various Youth Organisation Partners. This will include speaking to audiences, virtually and face-2-face at schools, colleges, charities and universities. This will ensure we have a continued stream of applications from Future Leaders wanting to join the Circl Programme from the best partners. You will be working with Schools, University Widening Participation Teams, Sixth Form Colleges, Vocational Colleges, Youth Charities and Worldwide Youth Networks in the UK and internationally.
  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Youth Partnerships Strategy: With support from the Programmes Delivery Lead, and wider team, you will be planning and executing our Youth Partnerships Strategy. The goal is to ensure the right amount of Future Leader applications come into our pipeline, from the right areas, with the right requirements, for each Programme. We want every individual programme to include Future Leaders best matched to their Professional counterparts, so they will get the most benefit from taking part, and remain committed and engaged throughout.
  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Promoting the Circl Programme: While we are already working with a significant number of partners, we want to continue to expand this pool to reach even more potential Future Leaders. You’ll be reaching out to new Youth organisations communicating the incredible, positive impact working with Circl has, bringing on board new partners. This may include speaking at events, facilitating information sessions, and attending conferences to spread our mission, values, and the message of the Circl programme.
  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Communications: You will be designing & sharing various communications templates with our key Youth Partner organisations to support them in attracting the right Future Leaders for the Circl programme.
  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Metrics & Impact: You will monitor & track applications from all of our partners to ensure you are on track with your objectives. This will also allow us to assess performance against our programme requirements.
  • Youth Partnerships Responsibilities - Key Measure of Success: The measure will be the number of successful Future Leader applications vs the target number of applications per Cycle (each cycle is a 4 month period).

Community Responsibilities

  • Community Responsibilities - Getting to know our Community: Through your support of the Programme Delivery Team you will be interacting as much as possible with our Future Leaders and Professionals gaining insight into how we can best support them.
  • Community Responsibilities - Social Media Communications: The best way to engage and keep in touch with our community will be through our social media channels. Alongside our Marketing Team you’ll design, strategise and execute campaigns to keep our Community engaged. This might look like setting up particular affinity groups for future leaders interested in a specific area (i.e. software development) or just answering miscellaneous questions as they come up. You will also be their primary point of contact to engage and interact with us and each other. We use linkedin, instagram, twitter, whatsapp and facebook, but we’re excited to explore other channels like TikTok and Discord as we continue to grow.
  • Community Responsibilities - Email Communications: You will design & deliver email campaigns and strategies for various opportunities to share throughout the community, as well as respond and engage with members.
  • Community Responsibilities - Engagement and Taster Events: Every few months you will organise and manage online and in-person events alongside our Marketing Team. Through these events you will engage our existing Community, attract new businesses, and Future Leaders. Events range from intro ‘taster sessions’ to the Circl Programme for potential clients companies, Future Leader Q&As where we invite inspiring speakers to talk to our young people; to our Quarterly Alumni Coaching Circls, where alumni come to practice their coaching skills; to in person events inviting Future Leaders or school groups to the offices of our professionals’ companies. In 2024 we’re aiming to run a Full Circl Event, bringing together the whole Circl Community in a F2F Event.
  • Community Responsibilities - Future Leader Advisory Board and Professional Ambassador Council: You will arrange and facilitate the meetings of these two important groups. They are composed of 5 Future Leaders and 5 professionals who broadly represent the views of, and speak for, the wider community. They convene on a bi-annual basis to discuss ideas and issues affecting them, or on an ad hoc basis if there is a particular issue to be addressed.
  • Community Responsibilities - Ad hoc Cross Community Connections: In our community we often have Future Leaders looking to connect with professionals in different industries. You will facilitate these connections as and when they come up, whilst always looking for opportunities to support different members of the community through new connections and opportunities.
  • Community Responsibilities - Ad Hoc Recruitment Support for our Business Partners: Occasionally our Business Partners want to hire Future Leaders for upcoming roles. When roles become available you will be required to support them with this on an adhoc basis.
  • Community Responsibilities - Metrics & Impact: You will monitor & track conversion, engagement and retention rates of all our Community activities to ensure you are on track with your objectives. This will allow us to assess performance against our goals for the Community.
  • Community Responsibilities - Key Measure of Success: Measures in this area include social media following, growth and engagement per cycle (4 month period), and the number of cross community connections made vs the target per cycle. Others include the number of prospective partners engaged via events vs the target for that Cycle, and the number of alumni Professionals and Future Leaders attending key events per Cycle.
