Youth Development Lead - Newcastle
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 10 months
Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £21,500.00 to £26,900.00 dependent on your skills, knowledge and experience

At The Prince's Trust, we’re passionate about supporting young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, education and training. We've got an exciting opportunity for somebody enthusiastic to work with young people to join our team as a Youth Development Lead! This role will focus on our Get Into and Get Started programmes, supporting young people to overcome barriers to access employment, education or training.
You'll be designing and delivering engaging sessions to groups of young people and supporting them one to one to move into outcomes. We are looking for someone with experience in session delivery and support to young people. There is an element of flexible working, but the role is required to be in the Newcastle centre a minimum of 2 days per week, with programmes running regularly that require daily face-to-face engagement.
You will join one of our Employability Programmes in Newcastle. Our Employability Programme improves Young People's employability and specific skills they need to help them succeed in the workplace, increasing their chances of obtaining a job offer! These tailored programmes support young people in removing barriers to achieving their goals.
What does a Youth Development Lead do?
As a Youth Development Lead (YDL), you will be at the heart of our Delivery Team. Each day is different and there are always exciting projects for you to get involved in! Your day-to-day activities to make an impact will include:
- Reporting any safeguarding concerns for young people on your caseload. This includes completing complex risk assessments, liaising with external agencies, and producing safeguarding reports.
- Managing caseloads and supporting young people in removing barriers to employment and sustaining a positive outcome.
- Writing, developing, and delivering employability sessions in collaboration with Delivery Partners, both face-to-face and virtually (using MS Teams).
- Developing quality relationships with young people, volunteers, and delivery partners to thrive in both team and independent work.
