At The Prince's Trust, we’re passionate about supporting young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, education and training. We've got an exciting opportunity for somebody enthusiastic to join our Health and Social Care team, working with young people aged 16-30 supporting them into employment with NHS Boards and Social Care employers.


You will join one of our Health and Social Care Programmes in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Our Health and Social Care Programme supports young people, from a variety of backgrounds, into long-term careers in the Health and Social Care sector. We partner with local NHS Trusts and Healthcare Providers across the country!


What does a Youth Development Lead do?

As a Youth Development Lead (YDL), you will be at the heart of our Delivery Team. Every day is different as a YDL and there are always exciting projects for you to get involved in. Your day-to-day activities to make an impact will include:


  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns for young people on your caseload, including completing complex risk assessments, liaising with external agencies, and producing safeguarding reports.
  • Attracting, engaging and onboarding young people onto the course through social media, job centres, working with community groups, job fairs and local outreach events.
  • Managing caseloads and supporting Young People in removing barriers to sustainable employment.
  • Engaging and building quality relationships with volunteers and local health and social care providers that we’re partnered with.
